Ermenegildo de Polo1919
The Foundation
After his experience as a chef in New York, founder Ermenegildo De Polo officially opens the hotel together with his wife Lilia Fumei.
I Guerra Mondiale1929
Resilience
The Great War is over, but the Wall Street Crash of 1929 shakes Europe to its core. The De Polo family holds firm: the reputation Ermenegildo earned as a chef in New York becomes the hotel's saving grace.
Hotel Al Pelmo, 19531953
First Expansion
First major expansion: the building is raised by one floor, reaching 33 rooms.
Cortina 19561956
Cortina Olympics
The hotel welcomes its first Olympic guests (Cortina '56) and Clara Trevisan marries Francesco, joining forces for the management.
1960
Second Generation
Clara Trevisan, the founder's daughter, takes the reins of the hotel with determination. Under her leadership the restaurant takes off: home cooking becomes a reference point for passing travellers.
1980
Third Generation
The baton passes to the third generation with Gildo and Olga Trevisan.
1995
New Rooms
Further expansion with a new building dedicated to 6 new rooms.

The modern SPA area is inaugurated.

The panoramic terrace is built — an evocative space with a breathtaking view of Picco di Roda and Montanel.
Solar energy2024
Ecological Turning Point
A radical ecological turning point: a 16 kWh photovoltaic system, a pellet boiler, and thermal insulation are installed. The hotel embraces the future while keeping its timeless warmth.

Fourth Generation
The fourth generation officially steps in: Francesca leads the hotel, joined by her siblings Gabriele and Isabel. Together they bring fresh energy to the family business, with Anna Maria giving soul to the kitchen.
Milano Cortina 20262026
Milano-Cortina Olympics
The hotel becomes a key host for the delegations and media of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics.
